Ocean Import Forwarder

Organizing international ocean imports from A to Z, coordinating with customers around the world, and ensuring every shipment arrives at its destination on time. • A gross monthly salary between €3,000 and €4,000, based on a full-time position and depending on your experience.

As an Ocean Import Forwarder, you will be responsible for managing the complete ocean import process from start to finish. You will monitor planning, communicate with customers, shipping lines, transport providers, and overseas agents, and ensure every shipment is handled efficiently. When unexpected situations arise, you know how to act quickly and find the right solution.

Your responsibilities include:

• Managing and coordinating ocean import shipments from A to Z, including both FCL and LCL shipments.
• Comparing freight rates and negotiating with carriers to achieve efficient and cost-effective transport solutions.
• Maintaining close contact with customers, shipping lines, transport providers, and overseas agents to keep all stakeholders informed.
• Preparing transport documentation, monitoring Track & Trace updates, and handling invoicing accurately.
• Resolving operational issues and transport delays while ensuring excellent customer service.

You'll join an international logistics service provider with approximately 75 employees. The company delivers end-to-end logistics solutions for well-known brands in industries including fashion and cosmetics. From its modern office near Schiphol Airport, a freight team of eight colleagues works closely together across ocean, road, and air freight. The atmosphere is informal, communication is direct, and teamwork is highly valued. You also bring:

• MBO level working and thinking ability.
• At least 2 years of experience in ocean freight.
• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge of ocean import operations, including FCL and LCL shipments.
• Experience with CargoWise is an advantage.
• Your own transportation.
